Meet your teacher, Ken Goode

I grew up in Fernie B.C. I started learning guitar at 10 and soon after started guitar lessons at a local music school.

Singing and performing became my passion and I began playing and performing with bands, and writing music at 14. I started singing and guitar lessons in my high school band/choir and local church choir.

In Kelowna B.C. I formed my first band, Stranger Daze where I received an award from the Western Interior Music & Arts Society for Appreciation of Originality and Dedication to the Music and Arts Culture.

In 2002 I moved to Vancouver B.C. to go to school at Columbia Academy, Digital/Analog Recording Arts to become a recording engineer, where I received my Diploma In Recording Arts. I worked with Q1 lighting as a lighting engineer and acted in my first tv commercial for the River Rock City Casino. Worked with the Vancouver Film Studios and helped create such movies as X-men, Fantastic Four and more. In 2011 I started working for the Survey Art Center Theatre as a Stage Manager, Sound Engineer and Lighting Engineer.

I recorded 5 records from 2005 to 2023 with 3 different bands as lead singer and guitar player, and am currently writing my 6th record with over 60 produced songs. Stand Down, Southern Death Threat, Wolfborne. My music has been in movies such as Red Dragons Skateboard Party, Steven Seagals movie Kill Switch, and more.

I have worked with producers such as Tim Neuhaus of Ear Art Music Studios, Jay Evjen of Juice Mix Productions at Green House Studios, and Juno Award-winning and Grammy Nominee, Garth Richardson from Fader Mountain Sound.

After moving back to Kelowna B.C in 2015, I started the vision of SOUNDSHIP SCHOOL OF MUSIC.

Music has always been in my life and my passion. Being able to coach and guide musical artists to find their own unique way to express themselves, is the next note in the life long song that I write.
